Helen A. Arnold passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5th at the Wingate Healthcare Facility in Haverhill, Ma. She was 92.

Helen was born and raised in Chelsea and worked as a dietician at the Soldiers Home as a young woman until she married her beloved late husband, George H. Arnold. She is survived by their 4 children: Lee Erickson and her husband Larry of Hampstead NH; George S. Arnold and his wife, Mary Jane of Rockport MA; Freddie Arnold and his wife Cheryl of Pembroke MA.; and Gail Arnold Martin of Sandown, NH.

She was the daughter of the late Harry M. Ells Sr. and Mary Jane (Conley) Ells and raised from age 12 by her second mother, the late Alice (Ingvaldsen) Ells.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Raymond Erickson and his wife Lisa of San Antonio, Tx.; Jill Luczkow and her husband Chris of East Kingston NH; Chad Erickson and his wife Dawn of Westfield MA; Amy Goulart and her husband Rick of Gloucester MA; Jonathan Arnold and his wife Andria of Essex MA; Ashley Poirier and her husband Stephen of Goffstown, NH; Paige Martin of Gloucester MA; Alec and Aiden Lynch of Pembroke MA; and 9 Great-grandchildren: Morgan, Sam, Braden, Mason, Bella, Ty, Shane, Vivian and Natalie

Also survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters: Harry Ells Jr. and his wife Claire of Chelsea; Charles Ells and his wife Joan of Chelsea; Pauline Mahoney and her husband Frank of Nahant MA; and Marie Ells of Chelsea

She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law: John Ells (survived by his wife Hazel); Francis and Jean Ells, William and Marie Ells; Andrew Ells (survived by his wife Rita) and Robert Ells. And many, many nieces and nephews in the Ells family and the Arnold/Arsenault family.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Wednesday, March 9th at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Contributions in her name may be made to Brookhaven Hospice, 6 Beech St, Framingham MA 01702, who provided comfort and solace both to Helen and her children.
