BRUNO, Eva (Ruggiero)- Of East Boston, March 25th. Devoted wife of the late Joseph J. Bruno. Beloved mother of Lillian Glennon and her husband John of Manchester, New Hampshire and Joseph Bruno of East Boston. Daughter of the late Carmen and Louisa (St. Angelo) Ruggiero. Dear sister of the late Mary Mirabello and Edith Abbott. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Joseph, Alyssa, Stanley, Michael, Matthew and Marianne. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Thursday, March 30th at 11 AM. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Born in Boston and a lifelong member of the East Boston community, Eva, at 88 years of age, passed away at the Eastpointe Nursing and Skilled Care Center in Chelsea where she resided for the last 2 years receiving supportive care. Eva taught Special Education in many of the Boston Public Schools, before her retirement from the Elliot School in the North End and the Curtis Guild School in East Boston. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Secular Franciscan Order of St. Francis as well as Jefferies Point Neighborhood Center.
