CAHILL, Paul M. Sr. age 89, of Malden, May 2nd. Devoted husband of the late Theresa (Fish). Beloved father of Paul M. Cahill, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Hollis, NH, Janice M. Fitzpatrick and her husband Thomas of Melrose, Nancy J. Mattuchio of Melrose and Christopher J. Cahill and his wife Lauren of Mashpee. Brother of Denise Sterner of Groveland, Richard Cahill and his wife Carole of Taunton and the late Joseph and Vincent Cahill. Cherished grandfather of Sean, Brendan and Meaghan Cahill, Thomas Fitzpatrick and his wife Jacquie, Lauren Fitzpatrick, Michael Fitzpatrick and his wife Jessica, Stephen and Joseph Mattuchio, Sarah, Kellen, Aidan and Regan Bartlett-Cahill. Also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren Grace, Christopher and Emily Woodman as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Saturday, May 7th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Friday from 3-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. Late United States WW II Naval Veteran, retired Vice President, General Credit Manager for Jordan Marsh Co. and a member of the Irish American Club and American Legion Post 69. Expressions of sympathy in Paul's name may be made to the charity of your choice. Those who knew Paul will miss his humor, intelligence and devotion to his family.

Born in Medford and a lifelong Malden resident, Paul passed away on May 2nd at the age of 89. He was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1944. After service to his country, he received his degree in mathematics from St. Anselm College, Class of 1952. Paul was a member of St. Anselm Alumni Association and a member of the St. Joseph's Holy Name Society.

In 1952, Paul began what would be a 36 year career with the Jordan Marsh Company, where he was Vice President, General Credit Manager until his retirement in 1988. He served as a technical credit advisor to numerous legislative committees and was instrumental in the passing of many consumer credit protection laws.
