Just found out that Joseph is no longer with us. He was a true gentleman and was a liason for those of Irish heritage. I last spoke to Joseph in May of 2015 when I was in Boston visiting my Mother who has alzheimers and he gave me a lift to pick up my rental vehicle. I will be lifting a glass of Bushmills in his honor since he touched so many lives with his wonderful spirit.
To Sheila and family: He was a wonderful man and is probably with the angels. My condolences on losing such a wonderful man but hopefully we will meet again in the next life.

My condolence to Joe's family and other friends. I first met Joe many years ago while he was working details at Boston's Bull & Finch Pub (later to become the "Cheers" Bar). Our paths crossed again later in life while I was serving in the Suffolk County DA's Office. He will be missed.

It was a great honor to have known Joe for forty-two years. We first met in Boston in 1974, when I was just a boot Trooper and Joe was with Boston. We'd see each other over the years from time to time, too often at wakes and funerals, and then later found ourselves both working for the Middlesex Sheriff. I always admired Joe's outspokenness, loyalty, courage and patriotism. He always went out of his way to help and advise me in any way that he could. Joe was truly a 'brother in blue'. I am greatly saddened to see him go and will cherish his memory and pray for his family.

You were a dear friend to me and I always enjoyed speaking to you by phone.

Thank you for keeping an eye on Frank Walsh and me when we first got to

District One. I'm glad I saw you at the last Police reunion in May. Thanks for

keeping in touch. If I wasn't in Florida I would be there for the service.

With sympathy, TIM
