Beloved father of Jovan Sokolovic and his wife Danijela of Malden and Melissa Lawless and her husband Bryan of Bedford, NH. Dear brother of Radojka Paunovic of Serbia. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Alexander, Noah and Luke. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 41 Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge on Thursday, March 12th at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Wednesday from 5-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden. Born in Pirot, Serbia, 71 years ago, Branislav passed away Thursday at the Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston after a courageous battle with lung cancer that was first diagnosed in 2006. Arriving in the United States in 1988 first settling in Jacksonville, Florida, he along with his family moved to Malden in 1997. An enginner by profession, he received his Masters from Rubber and Plastics Polytech in London, a city he considered his most favorite palce to travel to. Since 1997 and until his passing, he was an engineer for Alliance Tire in Wakefield. Devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, in his spare time he loved tennis as well as soccer.
